KERASAN participates actively in the ECONOMICK project, co-financed by the LIFE program of the European Union (LIFE15 CCM / IT / 000104), together with SE.TE.C. Srl and Life Cycle Engineering Srl. The project aims at the construction and experimentation of an innovative intermittent kiln that allows the firing of ceramic material while obtaining about 45% energy saving along with a significant reduction in the emission of pollutants. The kiln was developed by SE.TE.C. Srl. KERASAN oversees its experimentation and LCE will carry out an environmental and socio-economic impact assessment of the entire life cycle. This new type of kiln was inaugurated in the Kerasan manufacturing plant on 19th June 2018. Civil authority delegates participated in the event along with the main executive directors of the companies located in the ceramic district in Civita Castellana.
